1 dead in Thursday night homicide in KCMO

UPDATE, Friday, May 20, 4:02 p.m. | The victim has been identified as Christina Winters, 36. This investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE, Friday, May 20, 1:04 a.m | Police say at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday night, officers at the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department Central Patrol Division station heard the sound of gunfire outside the station near the front.

They responded to investigate and found a vehicle had crashed into the neighboring apartment parking lot at 1224 Linwood Boulevard.

Inside the vehicle, officers found an adult woman who had been shot.

They also found a young juvenile inside the vehicle uninjured.

EMS responded and declared the woman dead at the scene.

Officers detained one person for further investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY | One person died in a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday night.

Police responded to the shooting at 1200 Linwood Boulevard just before 11 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the victim.

No other information surrounding the shooting was immediately available.
