Man seriously injured in midtown shooting dies from injuries

UPDATE, Feb. 12 | The shooting victim died from their injuries, according to KCPD. They were identified as 31-year-old Tyreze Williams.

ORIGINAL STORY, Feb. 7 | Kansas City, Missouri, Police say a man was seriously injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon.

A police spokesperson said officers were called to the area of Westport Road just west of Southwest Trafficway before 1 p.m. on a shooting.

Police dispatch says the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have closed off a portion of a strip mall parking lot near the intersection.
