CASS COUNTY, Mo. — A 15-year-old is dead after a hit-and-run crash in southwestern Cass County, Missouri.
The crash happened just after 9:00 p.m. Sunday night on Route D, about half a mile south of Route OO.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boy was walking in the northbound lane of Route D when a maroon Hyundai, also traveling north, hit him.
The driver fled the scene of the crash.
Troopers said the boy landed in the ditch off the east side of the roadway. He was taken to Cass Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just before 11:00 p.m.
The Hyundai also had a headlight out and is missing a right side mirror.
MSHP Troop A is asking anyone who sees the car to call them at 816-622-0800.
