Police seek person of interest in Olathe homicide

UPDATE 4/1, 8:30 a.m. | Late Sunday night, Johnson County records showed Bibee was arrested on a first-degree murder charge.

UPDATE 5 p.m. | Olathe police said Matthew "MattMatt" Bibee Jr., 18, who is a person of interest in the shooting death of Rowan Padgett, has been located and contacted.

UPDATE 11:27 a.m. |The Olathe Police Department is seeking the public's help locating Matthew "MattMatt" Bibee Jr., 18, who is a person of interest in the shooting death of Rowan Padgett.

Bibee is 5-feet-6 and weighs 127 pounds.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE | A 17-year-old male was shot to death Friday in Olathe, Kansas.

Police responded shortly before 5 p.m. to a disturbance in the 12300 block of South Mullen Court.

Arriving officers found the unresponsive teenager — identified Saturday as Rowan Padgett of Overland Park — with an obvious gunshot wound and immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but he died at the scene.
