KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two men are accused of sexually assaulting an Uber driver at a Lee’s Summit hotel over the weekend, according to court records.

In a statement of probable cause, Lee’s Summit police said a man contacted authorities early Sunday morning after a friend texted him saying that she needed help, followed by another text saying, “They don’t know I have a phone.”

A cell phone company “pinged” the woman’s phone, and officers found her shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday at a Price Chopper store on Northeast Woods Chapel Road in Lee’s Summit.

The woman told police she had been sexually assaulted by two men, later identified as 46-year-old Ruslanas Kupratas and 30-year-old Oleksandr Isakov, at the Comfort Inn and Suites hotel at 3701 Northeast Ralph Powell Road.

According to the probable cause statement, the woman, an Uber driver, told police she picked up the two men at the hotel around 10 p.m. She drove them to a liquor store and then back to the hotel, where they told her to park the car and then blocked her from leaving.

The woman said Kupratas and Isakov took her up to a room and forced her to drink before sexually assaulting her, according to the probable cause statement.

The woman said she was able to text a friend when one of the men fell asleep. When the other man went into the bathroom, the woman said she fled from the room and shoved one of the men out of the way when he tried to follow her.

The woman went to an area hospital for treatment and had “obvious injuries from the assault,” according to the statement. Police also noticed visible bruising and other injuries consistent with her description of the attack.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the hotel room, and both men were found inside and brought to the police department for questioning. Police also found items of women’s clothing, which the victim said she was missing, inside the hotel room.

Both men told police the woman had consented to the sexual acts and had no explanation for her injuries, according to the statement.

The two men, who are from Russia, do not have a criminal history, police said in the probable cause statement, though Kupratas has an active international warrant issued by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Kupratas and Isakov were booked into the Jackson County jail on one count each of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sodomy.
