Two men have been charged in the shooting death of a Sedalia teenager during a drug deal.

The Sedalia Democrat reports that 35-year-old Brian J. Young was charged Wednesday and 21-year-old Kenneth S. McGee on Tuesday with second-degree murder in the July death of 16-year-old Andrew Meyers. Both men are jailed in Pettis County.

The phone number for Young's attorney rang unanswered. No attorney is listed for McGee in online court records.

Young is accused of shootings Meyers during what Sedalia police Cmdr. Adam Hendricks has called a "drug deal gone bad."

Young told detectives he fired his pistol after he was asked for his money and a weapon was pointed at him.

Pettis County Prosecutor Phillip Sawyer says McGee is suspected of facilitating the attempted robbery.
