An Amsterdam, Missouri man is in jail facing charges for firing shots at an airplane last month.

The Bates County Sheriff’s department says that Guy Gregory, 57, has been charged with second degree assault in connection with the incident on July 7.

Investigators said that Gregory was watching a plane spraying chemicals on his property that should not have been spraying on his property. Gregory told investigators that he attempted to waive the plane off, but it continued to spray chemicals, prompting him to fire three shots in the direction of the plane.

Gregory was arrested on August 21 and remains in the Bates County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
