Belton police seek person of interest in Friday homicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Belton police are asking for help to locate a person of interest in a Friday homicide.

Christopher Bell, 39, of Lee’s Summit was killed early Friday morning at an apartment complex near East 125th Street and Spring Valley Road.

Police were called to the parking lot, where they found Bell’s body, just before 1 a.m. on reports of shots fired.

Belton police said Monday they were trying to find 38-year-old Charles Baldwin, Jr. in regard to the investigation.

Baldwin is 6 feet tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has “distinctive” tattoos on his face and neck, including the word “Gucci” over his right eye. He may be driving a red BMW sedan, police said.
