KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Overland Park burglary suspect is lucky to be alive after surviving a jump from a bridge onto U.S. 69.
The suspect jumped off the 103rd Street bridge around 2:50 p.m. while fleeing from police.
Overland Park police officers were sent to a nearby neighborhood on a report of a burglar.
The suspect ran from the neighborhood and onto the bridge then jumped over a protective fence as police approached.
The man was injured, but is expected to survive, according to the Overland Park police.
