KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's been 23 years since the death of a Spring Hill teen.

Now, the Johnson County Sheriff's Department is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Tawnya Knight disappeared in 1996 after telling her parents she was going to a friend's house.

Her mother, Lori Knight, has been fighting for answers since.

Recently, police have received more tips in the case and Knight believes they'll get closure soon.

"This time I think they will. If they stay on it," Knight said. "It's been long enough for these people who did that to be out there just walking around, living their life."

If you know anything about the case, you're asked to contact Detective Gressel at 913-715-5560 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
