KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An elderly woman suffered serious injuries after she was shot during a robbery Wednesday night in Kansas City's Northeast neighborhood, police said.
Around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Gladstone Boulevard and found the woman inside a residence with a gunshot wound.
She was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Thursday morning, police said the woman had improved and was in serious but stable condition.
Police are looking for a male suspect. The vehicle he fled the scene in was found Thursday evening but the suspect is still on the loose.
