KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former Johnson County Sheriff's Deputy has been charged with one count of unlawful sexual relations.
According to court documents, Robert Lee Weller III is accused of having consensual, sexual relations with a jail inmate on Aug. 23.
Weller was placed on leave when the investigation began and was later terminated.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office began investigating Weller on Aug. 31. It opened a criminal investigation as well as a professional standards inquiry into the alleged misconduct.
