The parents of a teenager who was shot and killed spent Saturday handing out fliers and looking for answers. 19-year-old Devin Flemons was murdered inside a family member’s home in July of 2015.

Family members said he was holding his cousin at the time of the shooting, It’s been almost nine months since Devin was shot and killed, and no arrest has been made.

"Just devastating but at the same time you know our family we are just full of hope," said his father Donell Brown.

His mother, Natasha Flemons, says she worries this will happen to another family if Devin’s killer is not found.

"I truly feel that if a person feels they are getting away with something they will most likely kill again," said Flemons.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, 40 percent of murders in 2015 have gone unsolved. Last year was the deadliest in Kansas City in the past four years. Natasha says something needs to change.

"Well we have to let the community know that we are going to take a stand, you know this violence is not acceptable, enough is enough," said Flemons.
