KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A giant inflatable colon used to teach about colon cancer in races across the country was stolen in Kansas City, according to the University of Kansas Cancer Center.

The 10-foot inflatable colon, valued at $4,000, was sitting in the bed of a parked pickup truck in Brookside when it was allegedly taken. It was being transported to Swope Park for the Sister’s Living Beyond the Ribbon 5K relay walk scheduled for Saturday morning, the Cancer Center said.

The inflatable colon is owned by the Cancer Coalition, which ships it across the country for different races. It helps to show participants the progression of colon cancer, according to the Cancer Center.

Anyone with information should call the Kansas City Police Department at 816-234-5111.
