Grandview police say standoff ends near 136th, Cypress

UPDATE, 6:42 p.m. | The standoff has ended, a spokesperson for the department told 41 Action News.

According to the department, officers went into the home on Monday afternoon but could not find the suspect.

The owners of the home are adding a basement to the house, and officers eventually found the suspect inside a crawl space.

Police arrested the unidentified suspect, and he was transferred to an area hospital where he is being evaluated.

ORIGINAL STORY | The Grandview Police Department is working a standoff with a person inside a home near East 136th Street and Cypress Avenue.

According to a spokesperson for the department, the call may have been related to an abduction or assault.

The department is working to make contact with a person of interest who may be armed and dangerous.

A SWAT team is on the scene and is assisting with the standoff.

The department tweeted asking people to avoid the area.
