KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 21-year-old Grandview woman is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection to a shooting Sunday that left a man dead.

Just after 12 p.m. Sunday, officers were sent to the 13200 block of Winchester Avenue on a reported shooting.

When they arrived, they located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, identified in court documents as Matthew Hill, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Also on the scene when officers arrived was a woman who told police she was the shooter.

In an interview with detectives, Alexis Fisher allegedly told detectives that she was going to sell the victim marijuana, but that the transaction turned bad when the victim attempted to leave with the marijuana without exchanging money with Fisher.

Fisher allegedly told police that she fired two shots toward the victim as he was running away. Although Fisher allegedly told police she was just trying to scare the man, at least one of the gunshots struck Hill.

On Monday, Jackson County prosecutors charged Fisher with one count of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and delivery of less than 35 grams of marijuana.

Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 bond.
