KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Overland Park Police Department is asking the public to come forward with any additional information following a hit-and-run crash on Monday.

On Thursday, Police Chief Frank Donchez tweeted video of the crash at the exit from southbound U.S. 69 to westbound 119th Street.

The video shows a white sedan veering off the road into a grassy median and taking out a traffic signal before rejoining traffic.

Donchez said the driver has been tracked down. According to police spokesman Ofc. John Lacy, the driver faces a municipal charge of hit and run.

Donchez reminded residents that property damage of $1,000 or more must be reported.

"This is why we can't have nice things!" he said in his tweet.

OPPD asked anyone with more information on the crash to contact the Traffic Safety Unit. Overland Park police can be reached at 913-895-6300.
