Independence police seek vehicle of interest in teen’s shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 16-year-old was shot Friday afternoon in Independence.

Officers responded at 4:22 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 800 block of South Overton Avenue.

The teenager was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Independence police are looking for a dark colored, possibly blue or gray, Nissan Pathfinder or similar vehicle, which was captured by a nearby surveillance camera occupied by multiple white males.
