Johnson County officials announce charges in 2003 cold case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Johnson County District Attorney plans to announce charges in a 2003 cold case at 2 p.m. Thursday.

The cold case involves a murder more than 17 years ago at the Westwood Apple Market on Aug. 15, 2003, in Westwood.

Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe, Westwood Police Chief Greg O'Halloran and Johnson County Sheriff Calvin Hayden will make the announcement at a press conference.

The District Attorney's office has not released any further information at this time.
