Aphril Matthews lived just three weeks. She spent most of her life being abused.
On Wednesday a Clay County jury agreed with prosecutors and convicted the baby's mother, Rebecca Matthews, of abuse of child resulting in death and 11 other charges.
The crimes happened in August 2012 in Matthews' and her husband Dennis' home in Ray County, Missouri.
The baby was born three weeks premature, according to court documents. The documents also stated the baby died from blunt force trauma to her chest and abdomen.
Dennis Matthews faces several charges in Aphril's death. His jury trial is set for Sept. 26 in Clay County.
