KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A teenager was shot and killed on Monday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, according to police.
Around 1:15 p.m., police responded to the parking garage of the Children's Mercy Broadway clinic at West 31st Street and Broadway Boulevard. A 16-year-old male, who had been shot, was found inside of a vehicle there, according to police spokesman Sgt. Jake Becchina.
A doctor reporting to work had found the teen and rendered medical aid, Becchina said. The teen was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police later identified the victim as Clarence A. Lyons.
It was not immediately clear where the victim was shot, but police said they believe the shooting happened at a different location.
