Kansas City police investigate homicide after victim found dead in vehicle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department officers are investigating a shooting that killed one person on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the area of the 3000 block of east 49^th Street after receiving reports of a person who'd been shot.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found the victim dead inside of a vehicle.

The shooting marked the 61st homicide in KCMO in 2022.

No suspect information was immediately available.
