Altercation leads to fatal shooting Wednesday night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police said they were dispatched to a shooting in a home near East 67th Street and Brooklyn Avenue around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

When they got there, they found a man near the front door of the home who appeared to have been shot.

Police said there were people in the home who witnessed the shooting.

Witnesses reported a few adults were drinking alcohol. According to police, a person picked up a gun and started threatening another person in the home.

That person picked up a gun and shot him. Police said the man surrendered without incident and is cooperating with the investigation.

The man who was shot died. Police on Friday identified the victim as 36-year-old Roget Davis.

Police said the people in the home are related.
