Kansas City, Missouri, police investigating double homicide near 67th, South Benton

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a double homicide near 67th and South Benton.

Officers were called to the area just after 2 a.m. Friday regarding an armed party.

Upon arrival, police say they found an adult woman and an adult man outside of a home.

Both had been shot and died a short time later.

The woman was identified as Ashley Martinez, 32, and the man was identified as Donald Owens, 36.

Police are actively canvassing for witnesses. Thus far a suspect has not been identified.
