KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two 16-year-old boys have been charged in connection to the April 17 murder of 15-year-old Jesus Reyes.

Because they have not been certified as adults, the names of the two teens have not been announced.

One of the teens is facing first degree murder, robbery and assault charges in Reyes’ death late Monday night near Truman Road and Hardesty Avenue.

The second teen is facing a second degree murder charge along with first degree robbery and assault charges.

Both teens are in custody.

A condition update on the second person shot at the scene wasn’t immediately available, though police initially said that person’s injuries were life-threatening.
