KCK police investigate weekend homicide

UPDATE Oct. 9, 6:07 p.m. | KCKPD have identified the victim in this case as 19-year-old Jason Lopez-Mena.

ORIGINAL STORY | Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide that happened early Sunday morning.

Police said they were called to the 100 block of North 10th Street around 2:45 a.m.

The call was for an injury accident, but the police arrived to find a victim who was shot.

The victim was deceased and the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
