KCK woman charged with firing into car with 2-year-old inside

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kansas, woman has been charged with firing a handgun into a car in which her 2-year-old daughter was a passenger.

Tamashya Foster, 46, allegedly met a man at a motel parking lot in the 6300 block of Blue Parkway for a custody exchange around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 25, according to court documents.

Surveillance video of the incident obtained by Kansas City, Missouri, police shows the father arrive with a 2-year-old girl in a 2015 Toyota Camry.

Foster arrives later when the two victims are outside the vehicle, speaking with someone in another vehicle in the lot and parks a 2019 Dodge Journey behind the man’s vehicle. She then exits the Dodge carrying a pistol, according to a KCPD probable cause statement.

The man also had a handgun in his possession, but only pointed it at Foster after she pointed her gun at him.

The man placed the child in the Toyota and drove off, striking the rear bumper of the Dodge before exiting the parking lot.

Foster fired multiple shots at the vehicle as it drove away with the child inside, according to court documents.

Police located spent shells and bullet fragments at the scene.

After being contacted by the victims in the 8700 block of East 63rd Street, police observed multiple bullet holes in the passenger side front and rear doors.

Foster has been charged in Jackson County with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action.

She told police she had her girlfriend lure the man to the scene with the promise of sex in an attempt to set him up and regain custody of the 2-year-old daughter.
