KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Residents of Kansas City, Kansas' Armourdale neighborhood are being asked to evacuate due to a gas line rupture.

Police report the affected area stretches along Kansas Avenue between 7th and 18th streets.

Heavy equipment struck a large gas line, prompting the evacuation of homes and businesses in the area, police said.
