KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri, man pleaded guilty to murder Tuesday, according to the Platte County Prosecutor's Office.

Darius D. Miller, 22, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, delivery of a controlled substance and armed criminal action in the drug-related murder of a 20-year-old Kansas City man in February.

According to court documents, KCPD responded to the Northland Passage Apartments for reports of gunshots.

When they arrived, they found Kiran Logan, 20, deceased in the grass with a gunshot wound.

Court documents also said Miller was on the balcony of his apartment and told officers, "I am the shooter. I shot him."

Two handguns and four mason jars of marijuana were found near Logan's body and located cartridge casings in the grass below Miller's apartment and on his balcony. A handgun and assault rifle were located inside Miller's apartment.

According to documents, Miller's roommates saw Logan waving a handgun and telling Miller not to move, and then he went to his room, shut the door and heard several gunshots. He saw miller walk inside with a gun.

Investigators determined Logan and Miller had been communicating and Miller was planning to sell Logan marijuana.

Miller will be sentenced on Oct. 6 and faces up to 20 years in prison based on his plea agreement.
