KCPD: 1 man dies in shooting near 12th, Brooklyn

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man was killed Monday afternoon in a shooting in east Kansas City, Missouri.

According to KCPD, officers responded around 2 p.m. to a reported shooting near East 12th Street and Brooklyn Avenue.

Just south of that location, police found an adult male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later identified the victim as 63-year-old Ivory Harris.

Police spokesman Sgt. Jake Becchina said that based on evidence, it appeared that two people had been involved in an altercation.

Detectives were looking for possible witnesses on Monday afternoon.
