KCPD investigating homicide at 27th, Benton

UPDATE, Aug 26. | The victim was identified by KCPD as 65-year-old Jordan Lawrence.

ORIGINAL STORY, Aug 23. | Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a homicide in the area of East 27th Street and Benton Boulevard.

Police responded to the area just before 9 p.m. on a reported cutting and located a victim in front of a closed business, according to KCPD.

Officers rendered first aid and initiated CPR to the victim, who later died at an area hospital.

Police said the 911 caller was not at the scene upon officers' arrival.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
