KANSAS CITY, Mo. — KCPD is investigating an armed robbery at a Walgreens early Thursday morning.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on the corner of 39th and Broadway.

Officers on the scene told 41 Action News everyone is OK.

After reviewing surveillance footage, police said they believe three people took a large quantity of prescription drugs from the pharmacy. It isn't clear just how much the suspects made off with yet.

Police later confirmed the suspects are two men, who were armed with guns, and a woman. They allegedly went into the Walgreens, threatened the pharmacist and other workers before taking off with the medications.

The suspects fled on foot, and none of them are in custody, according to police.

Six patrol cars remained on the scene a couple hours after the robbery.

It is an ongoing investigation, police said, as they continue to review tape from security cameras and talk with witnesses.

The 24-hour store reopened around 6:45 a.m.
