2 found shot to death in car at 25th, Jackson in KCMO, police say

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating after two people were found fatally shot Thursday morning near East 25th Street and Jackson Avenue.

Around 7:20 a.m., callers told dispatchers there was a car parked there with people inside who may need help.

When officers got to the location, they found the two people, a man and a woman, had been shot and were unresponsive.

EMS personnel confirmed both victims were dead at the scene.

Police on Friday identified the victims as Raymond Trimble, 29, and Emonnie Nunez, 18, both of Kansas City.

KCPD said detectives would canvass the area for witness who might have information about the car and how long it had been at the scene.

Crime scene investigators were at the scene processing evidence that may lead to the suspect, police said.

The deadly shooting was the second reported in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday morning. Hours earlier, a man was found shot inside a burning vehicle at southbound U.S. 71 at 75th Street. He died later at an area hospital.
