KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating a homicide near a bus stop at 18th and Benton.
Officers responded to a shooting at about 7 p.m. Monday and found a black male with a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene by KCFD.

There may have been several witnesses to the crime. It appears the suspect fled north from the scene.
Officials have not released a cause of death or any suspect information.
This marks the 135th homicide for KCMO this year.
