KCPD: Man dies after shooting Wednesday on East 43rd Street

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man died from injuries sustained in a shooting a day earlier in Kansas City, Missouri, police announced Thursday afternoon.

KCPD officers responded to a home in the 10000 block of East 43rd Street, just off Pittman Road, around 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday on a reported shooting.

One man was found outside the back of the home, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, according to a KCPD spokeswoman.

The man was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died later Wednesday, police said.

The victim’s name has not been released.

It's the 96th homicide reported so far this year in Kansas City, which is on pace to be the deadliest year in the city's history.
