KCPD seeks help in solving fatal hit-and-run

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian’s death from injuries suffered during a hit-and-run crash in Kansas City, Missouri, has prompted police to ask for the public’s help.

Joe Wright, 50, was found lying in the street shortly before 6 a.m. on Monday near Eastwood Trafficway and Ararat Drive, the Kansas City Police Department said.

Wright had been struck by a car that fled the scene. He died from his injuries at a local hospital.

KCPD said its has no witnesses and no video. Police ask anyone who saw or knows something about the incident to call the Crime Stoppers Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
