KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is investigating the death of a man who went missing from the city but was found dead in Arcadia, Kansas.

Derrick A. Yule, 33, was reported missing from the 300 block of West Armour Road on Jan. 8, 2021.

According to KCPD, the missing man's body was found in Arcadia.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation conducted an initial investigation in Crawford County.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Office received a tip about a body at a home in Arcadia on Jan. 13 just before midnight, according to the KBI.

Deputies arrived at the home of Nicholas Adam Carrillo, 37, and received permission to search the property and found a body in the backyard.

According to the KBI, Carrillo fled the area and was taken into custody on the evening of Jan. 15.

Carrillo was arrested for desecration of a body, drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and interference with law enforcement.

KBI investigators identified the body as Yule, and believe he was killed in Kansas City before his body was found in Arcadia.

Because of that, KCPD took over the investigation. They believe the death took place at 4335 Main St. in Kansas City.

Yule's death is now a homicide investigation.
