KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 25-year-old Knob Noster, Missouri, man is facing several charges in connection to last weekend’s killing of 18-year-old Maliyah Lakey at a house party in Warrensburg.

Johnson County, Missouri, prosecutors Wednesday charged Christian Joseph Harrison with second-degree murder, three counts of unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon in the incident early Saturday morning.

Three people - including Lakey - were shot. The other two victims, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

According to court documents, the shooting took place following a fight at a house party. Detectives interviewed several witnesses who identified Harrison as the shooter.

During an interview Tuesday with detectives, Harrison said he had not recently shot a gun and did not have a gun at the party.
