KANSAS CITY, Mo. — UPDATE 9:15 PM 4/19/2018: Michael Wayne Hooks, the man wanted in a rape investigation, was taken into custody by Lawrence police Thursday evening.
Officials say Hooks called Jackson County, Kansas Sheriff Tim Morse and then travelled from Wichita to Lawrence.

The Jackson County, Kansas Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating a Lawrence, Kansas man accused of rape and other charges.
Michael Wayne Hooks, 41, is charged with kidnapping, rape, aggravated sodomy and aggravated burglary.
He is wanted in connection to a rape investigation in Holton, Kansas from April 12.
According to a release from the sheriff's office, Hooks has lived in Lawrence and may have fled to Topeka or Wichita. He worked as a door-to-door vacuum salesman but officials say the victims are not connected to his job as a salesman.
He's described as having black hair and brown eyes. He is 5'07" tall and weighs 240 pounds.
A reward is being offered for information that leads to the capture of Hooks.
