KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lee’s Summit police and the FBI are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery that happened Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Carmen Spaeth said a woman walked into the Central Bank of the Midwest at 1201 SW Oldham Pkwy. around 2:20 p.m.
She handed the teller note demanding money and threatening a weapon, though she never displayed one, according to the FBI.
The woman, who is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, had black curly hair and was wearing glasses, a ball cap and a navy hoodie.
Authorities said she fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a red or maroon, newer-model vehicle.
