The Johnson County Multi-Jurisdictional Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation Team is attempting to locate Christopher Allen Branham, the driver of the 1986 Monte Carlo bearing Kansas license plate 974GXJ. Branham has a warrant for the aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
Authorities have launched a manhunt following an officer-involved shooting outside a QuikTrip in Shawnee, Kansas.
According to officials, a Shawnee officer ran the plates of a vehicle that was sitting in the parking lot of the QuikTrip at 75th and Switzer early Thursday morning.
The driver had a warrant for their arrest, so the Shawnee officer flagged down the help of a Lenexa officer who was at the QuikTrip at the time.
The two officers approached the car, a struggle ensued and the driver backed up the vehicle in effort to make an escape.
The Lenexa officer fell down and discharged one gunshot from a firearm.
Police said the gun 'discharged', but didn't say if it was on purpose or accident. Don't know if suspect is hit @41ActionNews
