A man who remains at-large has been charged in the fatal shooting of Ewon Wright that happened in July.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced Dominique A. Lindsey has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

According to court records, Kansas City, Mo., police responded to a reported shooting in the 3800 block of College Avenue on July 14.

When officers arrived, they found a victim, later identified as Wright, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Wright was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, and he died as a result of the shooting on August 1.

Court records say a witness in the case stated Lindsey shot Wright. She said the two were arguing in a residence before the shooting occurred.

According to court documents, the witness said Wright was trying to leave the home when Lindsey approached Wright and pushed him and said he wasn’t going anywhere.

The witness said she saw Lindsey had a gun behind his back, and when she tried to take it he pushed her away, court records state. The witness said Lindsey shot Wright three times and then left the residence on foot.

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $500,000 for Lindsey, who remains at-large.
