Gunfire critically wounded a man during a Friday evening carjacking in Kansas City.
Police said the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. near East 25th Street and Bales Avenue.
After shooting the man, the thieves took his red Dodge Durango pickup truck and sped west from the scene.
Officers found the truck abandoned a short time later at East 14th Street and Highland Street.
