One person is dead following a shooting in KCMO on Tuesday.
Authorities said just before 2 p.m., KCPD officers responded to the area of 39th and Troost after receiving a call of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, 40-year-old Walter Gregory, with an apparent gunshot wound.
KCFD personnel arrived and transported Gregory to a local hospital, where he later died.
Witnesses stated they recalled seeing a vehicle leave the scene at a high rate of speed after the shooting, according to police.
Authorities said they are investigating this incident as a homicide.
