UPDATE, Oct. 26 | Police have identified the dead man as 18-year-old Adrian Williams.

EARLIER | A man died in a shooting that happened in Independence on Tuesday night.

At around 8:15 p.m., Independence police responded to the 800 block N. Park Avenue on reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, police located the man inside a home.

A person of interest was taken into custody, and police said they're not looking for additional suspects.
