Man sentenced to life for shooting Wyandotte County deputy

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kan. man has been sentenced in the shooting of a Wyandotte County Deputy in 2015. 

Charles Bowser is sentenced to life in prison plus 37 years and 4 months for attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer and other related charges.

Scott Wood, who was off-duty at the time, was shot when he walked into a 7-Eleven near 44th Street and Shawnee Drive. He was shot multiple times and spent two weeks in the hospital.

In February 2016, Dyron King, 25, and Cecil Meggerson, 36, were found guilty of attempted capital murder.
