KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A road rage incident Thursday night on a busy Lee's Summit highway ended with a crash and gunfire.

The incident began along eastbound Interstate 470 when two vehicles exited at U.S. 50/Pryor Road, according to a Lee's Summit Police Department news release.

One driver pulled in front of the other and slammed on his brakes, according to the news release.

The wet road prevented the second driver from stopping and he slammed into the rear of the suspect's vehicle.

The force of the crash sent the second car onto the shoulder of the road.

The first driver then drove into the driver's side of the second vehicle before firing several rounds from a gun into the victim's car.

One round grazed the victim, who also suffered minor injuries from his car being rammed.

Police arrested the shooter, but formal charges have yet to be filed.
