KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man was shot Friday night on a busy Johnson County interstate in what police believe may have been a violent road-rage incident.

Lenexa police have shut down northbound Interstate 35 at Interstate 435 to conduct an investigation, which resulted in an hour-long backup that stretched into Olathe.

The shooting victim told police he was driving northbound in I-35 around 7 p.m. when a person on a motorcycle, also headed north, opened fire. The victim drove to his house and called 911.

He was taken to an area hospital, but his condition was not known.

There is no suspect description at this time.

Kansas Highway Patrol reopened I-35 shortly before 9 p.m.
