2 men charged in Monday homicide in KCMO

UPDATE 5:15PM 5/10/2017: Two men are facing murder charges for a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri that left one person dead.

Keith E. Spencer, 18, of Tracy, MO, and Dominc E. Pineda, 17, are both facing charges in the case. Both are charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and attempted distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location.

The victim was identified as Timothy Durden, 18.

According to a probable cause statement, Pineda became nervous after receiving a message from someone looking to buy marijuana. Pineda and two other men armed themselves and waited for the person to arrive to purchase the drugs and a gun battle eventually ensued.

At 5:25 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the 8600 block of N. Rhode on a shooting. When officers arrived they found a man, later identified as Durden, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
