Man dies after being shot multiple times outside Wild Woody’s Happy Foods

EARLIER | A black man in his early 40s was shot multiple times Saturday as he sat in his car outside Wild Woody’s Happy Foods in a red Chevrolet Tahoe.

Kansas City, Missouri, police were dispatched on a shots-fired call around 6 p.m. in the 4000 block of East 31st Street.

The call was upgraded to a shooting as officers were en route and the victim was discovered sitting in his SUV with several gunshot wounds upon arrival.

According to KCPD, the suspect approached from an unknown direction and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital and was listed in serious condition Saturday night.

Police said Sunday the unidentified individual later died at the hospital.

Another occupant of the vehicle was not injured in the shooting.
